Program & Curriculum at The Child Garden
With four locations, Wellington, Oberlin, LaGrange, and Grafton, The Child Garden strives to provide quality child care and learning programs for children. Our qualified, trained teachers create a nurturing, safe, and secure environment where children can have fun, make friends, and develop a lifelong love of learning that will lead to future success.
Screenings, Assessments & Progress Reports
The Child Garden uses multiple developmental screening tools to assess each child’s development. Ages and Stages, Ages and Stages Social Emotional, and Deca screenings are a few of the screenings used regularly to assess children for developmental delays or social-emotional needs. Parents will be given checkpoint assessments/progress reports twice yearly to monitor each child’s progress and celebrate their child’s yearly achievements in all areas.

Our Programs
Explore The Child Garden’s diverse programs below, each crafted for growth and learning; we also offer transportation to and from local schools.
Infants & Toddlers
Our program is designed for the youngest learners, from 6 weeks to 36 months. We provide customized routines for infants that meet their needs, setting the stage for healthy growth and development. As children grow into toddlers, our approach shifts to a balanced mix of compassionate care, playful exploration, and foundational skill development.
Preschool
Our preschool program, designed for children aged 3 to 5, engages our young learners with activities that cater to their curiosities and support their academic and social development. We aim to prepare your preschooler for kindergarten and beyond!
Private Preschool
At all our locations, we offer Private Preschools tailored for children between 3 and 5. Children can be enrolled in this program only or as an add-on to daycare programming. Educators with Child Development Associate credentials or higher facilitate the program. Our goal is to prepare your child for kindergarten and foster a love of learning going forward.
Before & After School
Our centers cater to kindergarteners with half-day programs and offer extended care before and after school and on non-school days for children aged 5-12. These programs are designed to enhance social skills, encourage the formation of friendships, and continue educational development.
Back-up/Drop-in Care
Should your child require care on a more flexible, unscheduled basis, please contact one of our centers to learn about pre-registering for our backup/drop-in care program.
Summer Programs & Camp
The fun and learning never stops at The Child Garden! Our program, designed for children aged 6-12, combines educational activities with enjoyable field trips, ensuring an enriching experience. Join us this summer for fun, learning, and new friendships.
Sign Language
Our inclusive Sign Language program is designed for learners of all ages and is seamlessly integrated into the curriculum at no additional tuition cost, promoting accessibility and early bilingual communication.
Special Programs: Phonics, Math, and Tutoring
Our Special Programs in Phonics, Math, and Tutoring provide tailored educational experiences to foster academic proficiency and growth in every child.
