The Child Garden’s Commitment
to Early Education & Nutrition
We are proud participants of Ohio’s Step Up to Quality (SUTQ) and Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), which ensures high standards in early education and nutrition for our children. By embracing these initiatives, we underscore our commitment to comprehensive care, fostering academic excellence, and supporting the well-being of every child through wholesome, nourishing meals essential for their growth and development.
Step Up To Quality (SUTQ)
Each of our centers maintains a star rating of 3 or higher! The Ohio Department of Education and Ohio Department of Job and Family Services administers the Step Up to Quality (SUTQ) program, a five-star quality rating and improvement system. SUTQ standards are based on national research that identifies standards that lead to improved outcomes for children. It also recognizes and promotes learning and development programs that meet quality program standards that exceed licensing health and safety regulations. All early childhood education programs funded by the Ohio Department of Education are required to participate, and each program must receive a 3, 4, or 5-star rating to maintain state funding. To learn more about star ratings, check out Step Up To Quality (SUTQ) | Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
TCG and Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)
At The Child Garden, we prioritize the health and well-being of our young learners by providing wholesome, balanced snacks and lunches (link to #menu on Parents) through the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). The CACFP is a federal program designed to offer nutritious meals to children and adults in eligible childcare, afterschool, and adult care facilities. Because The Child Garden participates in CACFP, we are required to serve meals and snacks that adhere to the same nutritional guidelines as those followed by public school districts.
For any questions regarding our involvement with the CACFP, please reach out or check out the Child and Adult Care Food Program | Food and Nutrition Service.
